Baby Driver - Reviewed!

After being coerced into working for a crime boss, a young getaway driver finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail.
Director: Edgar Wright
Writer: Edgar Wright
Stars: Ansel Elgort, Jon Bernthal, Jon Hamm

Hi folks,
Last Friday I finally got to see Baby Driver at my local Broadway Cinema which also had a brilliant Baby Driver DJ Set after and what a great night it was!
Baby Driver tells the story of Baby who was involved in a car crash as a young boy and as a result suffers from tinnitus, His skill is as a get away driver for various heist and he's payed top dollar for his amazing getaway skills.  The tinnitus he suffers results in him constantly wearing headphones banging out some top quality music throughout the film.
The opening heist scene is breathtaking whilst The John Spencer Blue explosion "Bell bottoms" blares out and from then on its pretty much non stop action and music. I read that director Edgar Wright had the idea years ago and finally got around to making the film he always wanted to and i for one am glad he did.
It is pretty much everything you have seen or heard before with Tarantino written all over it, Lashings of True Romance and Bonnie and Clyde but saying that it didn't suffer from it as many a film before this have tried and failed miserably.
The references to TV, Film and pop culture are constant, I gave up trying to recognise them after a while and just sat back and enjoyed the ride!
Another fantastically clever scene is near the beginning when Baby is walking down the street to the tune of Harlem Shuffle while the lyrics appear in various graffiti/shop signs as he walks past, Brilliant.
Baby Driver is definitely worth checking out at the cinema if you can, One of the best movies I've seen this year if not in a long while.
9/10
