“This Blu-ray release of Halloween 4 is an essential upgrade.” – DVD Talk.

Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers
On Blu-Ray 15 Oct 2012

Long considered by many horror fans to be the best of all the Halloween sequels, Halloween 4 comes to Blu-ray for the first time in the UK and it’s never looked better.

Donald Pleasence (Prince Of Darkness; Halloween; The Eagle Has Landed; You Only Live Twice; The Great Escape), Danielle Harris (The Victim; Stake Land; Hatchet II; Rob Zombie’s Halloween 1 and 2), Ellie Cornell (The Thirst; House Of The Dead; Free Enterprise), director Dwight H. Little (Bones; Prison Break) and writer Alan B. McElroy (Tekken; Wrong Turn; Spawn).

Synopsis

Ten years to the day of that fateful Halloween when the adult Michael Myers first terrorised the sleepy town of Haddonfield, Illinois, the malevolent monster awakes from a decade-long coma, escapes incarceration and returns home. His latest prey is his niece, Jamie Lloyd, a young girl whose short life has been plagued by recurring nightmares involving her evil uncle. The only man aware of the true horror of the situation is Dr. Sam Loomis, Michael’s childhood psychiatrist and now the killer’s nemesis.

The one Halloween sequel that has actually improved with age, it’s a perfect example of how 1980s slashers put most modern-day horror flicks to shame. Danielle Harris, in her debut feature, is a revelation. There are plenty of cool and entertaining nods and references to John Carpenter’s original and to Jamie Lee Curtis. The film also features numerous unforgettable sequences, not least of which are the nightmarish “multi-Michael moment” and director Little’s homage to Sam Peckinpah. For those who have forgotten the events that lead up to this instalment, a five-disc DVD box set featuring Halloween 1, 2, 3, 5 and 5 is also available.

“Anchor Bay's new Blu-ray of Halloween 4 is easily the best the movie has ever looked.” – DVD Verdict.

“It’s among the top slashers of the 1980s and easily sits as the best sequel in the Halloween saga.” – DreadCentral.com.

“For a 24-year-old, low budget slasher movie, Halloween 4 looks very clean and clear and perhaps better than it ever has.” – IGN

“A terrific high definition transfer.” – DreadCentral.com.

Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers
On Blu-Ray 15 Oct 2012

Hugely underrated at the time of its original release, the highly entertaining and impressively stylish Halloween 5 finally gets the High-Def treatment the fans have been waiting for and it looks amazing

Donald Pleasence (Prince Of Darkness; Halloween; The Eagle Has Landed; You Only Live Twice; The Great Escape), Danielle Harris (The Victim; Stake Land; Hatchet II; Rob Zombie’s Halloween 1 and 2), Ellie Cornell (The Thirst; House Of The Dead; Free Enterprise) and director Dominique Othenin-Girard (Omen IV: The Awakening).

Synopsis

It’s one year after the events of Halloween 4, and both Michael and Jamie have survived the horrors of the previous year’s “festivities”. Jamie is still having nightmares about her pathological uncle and, to further complicate matters, has realised she shares a telepathic bond with him, a revelation which Dr. Loomis decides to use to his advantage in tracking the seemingly unstoppable killer.

Bringing a unique sense of European style to the Halloween franchise, director Dominique Othenin-Girard pulls out all the stops to make this a rollercoaster of non-stop entertainment by throwing in everything from a pair of comedy cops, a mysterious figure in black (Who is he?), some cute woodpile kittens, deadly sex in a barn, a tense moment of “charades” and a truly awesome, nail-biting chase sequence involving a laundry chute. Add Troy Evans (Frank the desk clerk from “E.R.”) and the gorgeous Wendy Kaplan (as hot teen bimbo-turned-heroine Tina) to the mix and you have one of the most fun-packed and thrilling episodes of the Halloween franchise. And for those who have forgotten the events that lead up to this, a five-disc DVD box set featuring Halloween 1, 2, 3, 5 and 5 is also available.

“A terrific high definition transfer. This looks better than Halloween 4 with crisp colours and excellent detail.” – DreadCentral.com.
